Fruit and veg box delivery scheme

If you live within a 3 mile radius of our base in Hackbridge (SM6 7DF), you can receive a weekly box of fresh, local fruit and veg to your doorstep, delivered by bicycle trailer (in partnership with EcoLocal Deliveries), so it's good for you and good for the environment!

Frequently asked questions

What are the contents of fruit and veg boxes?
Contents of fruit and veg boxes are updated weekly here. Please note that contents may vary slightly depending on availability, but the boxes will always have the same value of produce.

How do I order online?
You can now order easily and securely online. The minimum order is one box of value £5 or £8 including delivery. To order, click the "Add to Basket" button for the box you would like, which will take you to the shopping cart.

How do I pay for orders?
For one-off orders, you have two options for payment, either cash on delivery or debit/credit card.
Cash on Delivery
To pay by cash on delivery, click the "Checkout" button on the shopping cart page. Please note that if you have ordered for home delivery and select cash on delivery, you must be at home during the stated delivery times to pay for your order.
Credit or Debit Card
To pay by credit or debit card, click the "Checkout" button on the shopping cart page. Payments are then handled securely by Paypal. NB You don't need to have a Paypal account for this, just a debit or credit card.

Can I order for collection from your local produce markets?
If you would prefer to collect your fruit and veg box other produce from our market at BedZED Pavilion, Hackbridge, Sundays 11-1pm, you can save on the delivery cost. To do this, select the option "Collection from market at BedZED Pavilion" as the delivery method the shopping cart page.

What is the deadline for ordering?
Please place your order by 8pm on Thursdays to ensure you receive your delivery on the next Saturday, or for collection from the market at BedZED Pavilion on Sundays 11-1pm.

Can I order other items apart from the fruit and veg boxes?
You can order loose produce, but you must order at least one fruit and /or veg box. Loose fruit, vegetables and free range eggs are listed below the fruit and veg boxes. To order, click the "Add to basket" button for the item you would like.

How do I set up a regular order?
You can also set up a regular order (subscription) and you will then receive a regular weekly delivery without the need to re-order each week. This is handled by Paypal. To set this up, click the "Subscribe" button for the box you would like. You do not need a Paypal account but you do need a debit or credit card. For regular orders, you will be billed for the first 4 weeks as a trial period. You can the either cancel, or renew your subscription which will set up a regular payment every 4 weeks. Unfortunately, subscriptions are not yet available for loose produce.

Can I ask you to leave out items that I don't like and substitute other products?
Yes, you can tell us up to 2 items from the produce list that you don't want to have in your fruit/veg box, either for one-off or deliveries or subscriptions. We will substitute them for some other fruit or veg to the same value. To do this, enter the items you don't want in the "Substitution" text boxes as needed.

How do I cancel a regular order or skip a week?
You can cancel your subscription at any time, by clicking the "Unsubscribe" button. If you are away and wish to skip a delivery in any week, you can take a payment holiday. To skip a regular delivery for the next weekend, please email us by Thursday 6pm. You will then receive a refund for the value of one week's subscription.

Can I order without a credit or debit card?
If you do not have a debit or credit card, you can order by email or phone for cash on delivery, but you need to be at home during the delivery times below. Please place your order by 6pm on Thursdays. You can also set up a regular order by standing order from your bank account. If you would like to do this, please contact us for details.

When and how are the boxes delivered?
Delivery is currently done by bicycle trailer on Saturday afternoons between 3 and 6pm. If you have paid online and are not at home, this is not a problem as if you have a safe place to leave your items. If you have a particular place to leave them, please complete the "Instructions for delivery" box on the checkout page.

Are there special rates for people with mobility problems?
Disabled or older residents who live in our delivery area may benefit from a discount on orders over £8. See conditions below*. Unfortunately this is not available for online ordering, but only for email or phone orders for cash on delivery.
